The California commercial grid is historically unreliable and customers have experienced a 6.5% annual increase in electricity bills for the last thirty (30) years. Industrial solar panel installations allow many companies to access a more reliable and less expensive alternative to the traditional electrical grid.

One of the earliest silicon industrial solar panels was developed by Bell Labs in 1954 to provide reliable power to remote equipment installations. At least one of these original solar cells is still in operation today. The lifespan of industrial solar panels is well beyond the payback time and with numerous government incentives to install solar systems, the investment is well within the reach of most companies.

The newly developing smart grid system will enhance the ability of commercial and residential solar panel arrays to sell excess electricity to the commercial grid, thereby enhancing the return on investment (ROI).
